RECITALS / PHOTO BY LEWIS FERRIS
To make up for a couple of cancelled shows on their 2022 Aotearoa tour thanks to a run of sickness (one of which being our Beautiful Things party in December) the kaleidoscopic septet Recitals have announced a show in Tāmaki Makaurau on April 1st at the iconic Whammy Bar — named their tour 'epilogue' — enlisting the support of Baby Zionov and a special solo set by Kane Strang.
The group have been playing a number of shows this past summer, most recently at Newtown Festival and Welcome To Nowhere, where music blogger Hahko named their set as the standout of the festival. Be sure to grab tickets — their last show in Auckland sold out.
"Once upon a time, during a blustery December when sickness was running amuck, we had to regrettably cancel a couple of shows in the northern part of the motu. At last, after some good rest and lots of lemon honey and ginger tea, the time has come for us to return and play at Whammy Mainroom on April 1st in Tāmaki Makaurau, supported by dream-team Baby Zionov and Kane Strang."
