The remix album of deepState's 2021 record MMXXI, is out today in the form of MMXXI The Remixes. Alongside this announcement comes the release of the final single. Listen to Parallel (Sonya Waters Remix) here:
Speaking on her interpretation of Parallel, Sonya Waters (also of avoid!avoid) commented that "I wanted to make an ambient piece like an Impressionist sound painting where small strokes of audio blur together to present a soundscape that is almost devoid of events. [...] After choosing a more gentle element of the original mix as an underlying layer, I chopped out pieces of sound and manipulated them in a granular way, by stretching or shrinking, to create an overall vibe of floating and layering, where voices enter and exit the soundfield in different ways. The piano was added as a played response to the original sequence of notes."
