Hell Hole, the new single from Erny Belle (Ngāpuhi), comes with a video directed by Belle herself and Matt Hunter and filmed at Wainamu Farm out at Te Henga/Bethell's Beach. Check it out here:
Hell Hole is the second track out as part of Belle's album rollout, following on from last month's Burning Heaven. Speaking about the track, she commented that "the Hell Hole is a place I feel I don't belong to. It's a feeling of disconnection I had at the time within the Auckland music scene. It's a promise to myself not to lose sight of my intention, bend for others to fit or allow my darker self to consume me. It reflects on my identity as Maori living in Auckland City and was written just before I decided to shift North and start writing [upcoming album] Venus Is Home."
Erny Belle's debut album, Venus Is Home, comes out January 2022.
