Queer feminist pop punkers Cootie Cuties have released their second EP for this year, Sexy Grrrls In Your Area. Check it out here:
It follows on from August's The Freebleeder EP, which featured on 95bFM's Top 10 and received plenty of airplay on the station. Unfortunately though, shows planned at the time were thwarted by the dreaded Level 3. Praying for better luck this time, as Cootie Cuties have some excellent ones lined up. Namely, this Thursday's Sweet Treats Punk Night 3 (Free, at Whammy, Auckland) and then at Saturday's Hamtown Smakdown 2020 - Summa Smakaz at The MCA Centre in Hamilton which quite frankly sells itself (Tickets free with registration here). Cootie Cuties are bringing an 'ugly prom' theme, so if you're anywhere Waikato-adjacent, you'll want to be there early.
In what is another clear signal of the burgeoning feminist punk scene in Aotearoa, Hagseed are also performing at the Smakdown! Kate Powell wrote an excellent article highlighting some current artists within the scene, including Hagseed's Alanna Wolf and Cee Te Pania.
