Violet French has announced that she, alongside her band The Horrible, is lacing her signature folksong with psychedelic guitar work and astute pop sensibility into the release of her first EP. Today, she has released the first single of said EP, and it's one you should listen to - RIYL: Hole, Joan Baez, PJ Harvey. Check out I Want The Sky To Be Crying here:
The eponymous EP is set to be released digitally on August 5th via the Ōtautahi label Melted Ice Cream - the label that's in the habit of providing sweet treats (see: Ben Woods' upcoming album and that Best Bets album). For the quick and nimble, there's a limited run of lathe cut vinyls available courtesy of Christchurch's Johnny Electric; available via the group's bandcamp page.
Violet French and The Horrible is out digitally on August 5th and on lathe cut vinyl around August 15th.
