First meeting in high school and forming in 2001 to play a string of house parties, The Mint Chicks decimated many packed, sweaty living rooms for years before being signed by New Zealand record label Flying Nun.

The band went on to release three EPs and three albums and became known for mixing cool pop hooks and structures with modern noise rock, experimental and punk rock music.
