APRA has announced this year's finalists for its songwriting awards. The Silver Scroll Award recognises outstanding achievement in the craft of songwriting, and this year's group of outstanding songwriters includes Reb Fountain for her song Hey Mom, The Beths, Anthonie Tonnon, and Lips, among others. Equally, the Maioha Award celebrates excellence in waiata reo Māori. This year's finalists include songs by Haami, Katchafire, Maisey Rika, Mara TK, and Tuari Brothers. Listen to these waiata here:
If you're an APRA member, you can vote for your top five in the Silver Scrolls here, or your top three for the Maioha Award here. The awards will be presented at Auckland's Spark Arena on Thursday October 14.
