Tāmaki Makarau's party-punk spitballers Dick Move are back with their first new music in two years, and it's a ho ho hell of a tune! With four out of five of the band members fluent in East Coast slang, they're bringing the classic burn "Did you get eyes for Christmas" to the big smoke, and to a radio station near you.
"This song is about a cracker of a one liner that echoes through small town Aotearoa. Someone staring, dare we say ogling at you? Hit ‘em with the almighty “you get eyes for Christmas mate?” And watch them shrivel. Simple, powerful, crack up stuff — and hopefully gone are the dayz of the male gaze." - Lucy Suttor, Dick Move
The band also recorded a live version of the track at Palmerston North's The Stomach, in July, 2022. For a little taste of jolly Dick Move in the flesh, check out the video below:
Being the relentless performers they are, Dick Move have not one, but two shows this weekend — first up on Friday 16th December at Whammy Bar's 'Sweet Treats: Stocking Stuffer', and then on Saturday 17th December they're hitting the road for Your Enablers Xmas Party: Under the Harbour Bridge.
Dick Move have also been announced as tour support for legendary Australian pub rockers, Cosmic Psychos, on their tour of regional Victoria, AU. Aussies, you can catch these bands in late January at the dates and venues below:
