K M T P is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Keria Paterson. They have previously featured in bands such as Polyester and b-Lush. Now, we are graced with the melancholic P.S. C U Soon:
It's a beautiful set of songs. Speaking about the EP, Paterson commented that
"This EP is a series of songs written over a year, exploring common emotions and feelings about life: thinking about moving back home from the big city, struggling with everyday obstacles, breaking out from bad situations, and ultimately, loving your friends along the way.
P.S. C U Soon is out now via Sunreturn.
Press release:
K M T P is the musical project of Keria Paterson, a musician and songwriter currently based in Auckland. Keria didn’t discover music at a particular point in their life, it was always there, whether it was attending Flying Nun gigs with family as a kid and starting to sing and play guitar and piano at an early age. At high school, they connected with other passionate musicians and added bass and keyboards/synths to his repertoire, as well as beginning to experiment with recording and live music production.
Before starting their own solo projects as K M T P, Paterson played with Auckland indie faves Polyester, as well as with Ethan Moore’s “bedroom stadium pop” project Dirty Pixels.
k m t p will release their debut EP P.S. C U Soon on August 14. The release has been a DIY labour of love that shows that Keria Paterson has talent to burn.
