It has just been announced that the recipient of this year's IMNZ Classic Record award is Look Blue Go Purple's 1991 album Compilation which will be awarded at this year's Taite Music Prize in April.

Independent Music NZ have announced their finalists this morning for both the Taite Music Prize 2023 and the Independent Debut award — and are thrilled to see that both shortlists include some of our fantastic Flying Nun whānau; Aldous Harding, Fazerdaze and one of our latest signees Erny Belle. The Taite Music Prize 2022 have announced it's short list of finalists today, and as usual there are some real doozy's in there - including Flying Nun's very own Reb Fountain (last years' winner) and newcomer Vera Ellen. But that's not to say they won't be facing some still competition from the likes of Luke Buda, Troy Kingi, Team Dynamite, Sheep, Dog & Wolf, Lips, French For Rabbits, Dianne Swann and Anthonie Tonnon.
